Pics of Nordic Gold/Cocoa Brown 2009 C2S w/PDK
For anyone who is interested, here are some pics of my new 2009 C2S with PDK.
Having come from a Cayman S with Tiptronic, the PDK is quite different and definitely provides a more "mechanical" interface. Also, since I never learned to drive a manual transmission, I cannot make the obvious comparison to manual, but maybe my husband over on the 993 board can chime in on his thoughts about the PDK. However, there are some disconcerting aspects such as a pronounced "clunking" (sounds as if I've dropped some parts on the road) especially when it shifts down to 1st, particularly in Sport Mode.
My options are as follows:
Nordic Gold Metallic
Cocoa Brown Full Leather
Power Comfort Seats with Driver Memory
PASM Sports Suspension Pkg.
PDK
Self Dimming Mirrors
Heated Front Seats
19" Carrera Classic Wheels
Rear Window Wiper
Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
Dynamic Cornering Lights
Multi-Function Steering Wheel-Lthr-PDK
Bluetooth
Sport Chrono Package Plus
Bose
Floor Mats in Interior Color
Universal Audio Interface (iPOD, et. al.)
Porsche Crest in Headrest

My husband is Craig (cgfen) on the 993 board.
Someone asked about the cat - He not as exotic as a Bengal, he's a shelter cat that is an evil combination of Brown Tabby and White with a 90 degree kink in his tail.
Someone else asked about the dynamic cornering lights - I think they are more useful than the dynamic leveling lights as they do illuminate the road as per the car's position (i.e., as it turns) in a more obvious manner than the leveling. I am not sure if they are as functional at higher speeds than at lower speeds - I am not sure if this is related to the lights not having enough response time when you are going faster to compensate for position.
Regarding the Sport suspension : My husband has played around with the PASM more than I have so he can give you better feedback - You may want to PM him since he can discuss this aspect better than I. Also, he lowered his 993 C4S and modified its suspension, and I think it's HIS opinion that his 993 handles better than the 997.2...
