Default Perfect Weather

What a week we've had,--and today,--perfect again. I see now why so many cabriolets sell in Southern California. You can truly use them 12 months a year. I think the high was about 80ºF with no wind.

Shot taken looking to the south and the Santa Barbara Channel islands--L-R, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa...

We're really spoiled out here. I don't miss the Nor'Easters in New England or the tornadoes in the Mid-West.

Oh yes, the California lifestyle... NY isn't that bad now is it!

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday proposed $4.4 billion in new taxes and a similar amount in spending cuts to deal with California's worsening fiscal crisis, saying, "We must stop the bleeding."

Much of the new revenue would come from a 1.5-percentage-point increase in the sales tax; the Republican governor described the hike as temporary but did not say how long it would last.

"We have a dramatic situation here and it takes dramatic solutions ... and immediate action," Schwarzenegger said as he called the Legislature back into session to deal with the budget shortfall.

The governor said $4.5 billion in cuts will be necessary across all state programs, including education, social services, health care and prisons.

Just six weeks ago, Schwarzenegger signed an overdue state budget that was intended to close a $15.2 billion deficit. The rapid pace of decline in the national and state economies since then has reopened an $11.2 billion gap that threatens to widen even further.

Arnold today talked about raising the sales tax,--and the auto dealers are bleeding as it is. Imagine raising the tax 1.5% above what it is already? Forget auto sales for awhile. Who was it that said they will be raising taxes to stir up the economy?

Believe El Lay passed a .5% increase, so that makes it 8.75% there. Over 10% with 1.5 on top of that.

It's not that I couldn't offer my own fat spoiled cat, named Mona, here resting in her favorite chair (and actually looking slightly worse than her weight really is):

I believe that's a smile Mona's wearing? Riley, has a different way of greeting people. The word "hiss" comes to mind. I keep my distance from him, that's for sure

Hey,--he's a good judge of character. If you're not bringing food he won't be your friend...

Yes indeed! Weather is at its best in CA! last time I was there in July to pick up my 997, there were no clouds in sight! I thought that was awesome. I lived in Coronado San Diego for 7 years and that was the norm!
Seems though that you pay for the weather too with the cost of living

Earthquakes and Fires are the only drawbacks.

Edgy,
Cold northeast and tornado mid-west! You gotta like hurricanes on the gulf coast.
Were having a good ol thunderstorm in Houston now but this time of year
is about the best here. Cool and lower humidity
But agree your place is just too good for a large percentage of the year.
