6 Sp very tight 1st & 2nd when cold?
I have a 2007 997. I now has 10,000 miles on it. I thought at first I just needed to break the car in, but it hasn't gotten any better. It's fine when it's really warmed up, but that takes a while.
Has anyone else noticed this and got it fixed? I've had 2 Boxsters and never noticed it on them.

Funny my wife's Boxster is the same way. Service said everything is fine...

Hiya, my 997S (just traded it for a Gen II) was exactly the same. It had the Short shift kit and the details advised with the short shift that 1st and 2nd would need more effort, especially when cold.

The short shift kit definitely is a bit stiff in the cold.
That being said, I think every car I have ever owned has had some resistance in 1st and 2nd gear when the car is cold in cold weather. I remember an Rx7 I had was like shifting through molasses whenever it was cold outside.

Absolutely normal. The 1st and 2nd synchros are harder. When I start a car cold, I always exercise all gears several times going through the double-H, and raise the clutch in neutral between gears, while warming up the engine. I especially exercise 1st and 2nd gears. It makes a big difference as it lubricates gears/synchros.

Yes, my 06 997 sport shifter does the same thing when cold. I even put in in reverse for a second at a light tonight trying to get it into first. It's better than my 05 Vette though... when cold I need to put it in second at times first before it will go into first.
