yesterday i took my daughter to get a fish. she's 5, so this is a big deal. noting that it was getting late in the day, she got her coat on and screamed, "Mom, we're taking the Porsche, it's faster!"

I think it's great that we're affecting a future generation with these cars! And only 5. I think Porsche has a very bright future!!

notice that there's been a smile on every kid's face?
Here's a pic of my son and I just before I took him out on his first drive in my cayman. My kids love riding in the front seat so much that on days they need motivation to get to school, I take them on separate trips in daddy's 'racecar'. We have three cars now and my wife is finally thinking I should trade my civic and cayman in for a used 997. Those back seats and big front trunk could handle most daily trips. One thing that's been great about having a two seater is the more interesting conversations I have with one child in the front seat, especially my five year old. He's asked all kinds of questions about the manual shifter, all the 'clocks', the map and icons on the nav, the numbers displayed from the cd changer menu, the engine sound and 'going so fast'.

A few years ago, when my oldest son was getting close to driving age, we were out driving in the 996. I was trying to set an example of good driving:
My son: "what's wrong?"
Me: "huh?"
My son: "I'm not used to you driving at sub-light speeds."
So much for setting an example. It was obviously too late already.
