It's not very attractive, but it's much nicer than the "shark fin" models I've seen on other marques.
And, it looks to be pretty small.

+1... It definitely wouldn't look better w/o but this is pretty inobtrusive. Maybe in a couple of years they'll be able to hide it completely?

The irony here is that in the past; Porsche AG stated that they didn't want to do XM/Sirius due to anything 'ugly' on the car.

Seems they've changed their position.

It's just a small pimple....it'll go away if you don't pop it.

What you need is a rear wiper to distract you from that.

If you want satellite radio, you must have an antenna that has a clear view of the sky. Its the price of admission.

I was so happy to learn that I could have PASM and LSD w/o that ugly wart on the dash and now I find out there’s a pimple on the roof. I assume that’s there for the navigation as well as satellite radio.

I like mine better. It doesn't intrude on the exterior finishes as much, and still works well.

That's a much better place for it, cosmetically...almost invisible.

Even a step more hidden....I have mine mounted below that black strip of plastic yours is mounted on top of. I am in a 996, but I think it is the same basic setup there. The reception is good enough. You just need to make sure it isn't obstructed by the various metal parts...mine has a clear shot through the black wiper plastic.

Yes, I tried that, but on my 997 I couldn't find anywhere to mount the antenna underneath, except under the very far corner near where the front fender meets the windshield. I found that the reception was a little less reliable in that location.

Ken,,
You deserve a job in Porsche engineering. Much better placement although I don't think it provides the downforce that the Porsche solution offers.
