Default Brey Krause R-2035 Fire Extinguisher Mount (EDIT: Installed)

Has anyone here installed the Brey Kraus R-2035 FE mount in their 997 with standard power seats?
EDIT: See Below, part installed w/o problem

Coochas

I had HMS Motorsports in Danvers install a fire extinguisher/mount; I'm 90% sure the mount was Brey Kraus. My file is in the car or I could be more sure.

Darn Dave, I think I left that off my 10-point plan.

Save yourself some time and money. Skip directly to step 10. ;-)

Thanks for the replies.

And Mike,....I just have to say NO! Maybe one day in the distant future I'll go to step 10. Besides, I don't think my neighbors in Boston would find the trailer amusing.

Yeah, its pretty easy. I did it on my 987. Its the same thing. The biggest pain in the *** is going to the dealer to have them clear the air bag fault. If the dealer will charge you an hours labor to put it in I would have them do it.

Yeah, I've decided to have Autobahn Performance install it....sounds like they use the same mount.

I have one but never got around to installing it; the instructions make it look like a bit more work than I expected, and I guess I've been too lazy to get around to it.

Default R-2035 Installed, plus Rennline pedal with throttle extensions

I am happy to report that the BK R-2035 was installed in my 997 with standard power seats w/o problem. I had Autobahn Performance in Peabody, MA do the installation for me (they are also a BK dealer). For anyone looking for a Porsche shop in the Boston area, these guys seem great - they also did my tech inspection last month and gave me a cool freeby long sleeve T shirt,....what can I say? Anyhow, I've heard from many people that Autobahn is great and they certainly had a few nice machines in the garage!
I also had them install a Rennline gas pedal with throttle extensions just to make heel toe just a little bit easier for me.
As for the fire extinguisher:
-BK R-2035 $107
-Halotron FE $145
-Install Labor $112 (for FE, not gas pedal)
I'm hoping to get a few more track days before winter as my turbo will most likely be here for next season.
PICS......

I have it with a safecraft FE. I also have the BK quick release and take it out of car when I don't need it.

Thanks for all the pics guys. Just found out I need a hard mounted FE to run with the Ferrari guys at a Summit Point event in October. Quick release looks like the way to go for me.

Are the pictured FE's 2.5 lbs? The group putting the event together requires 5lb FE's or equivalent...I'm hoping it's the latter.

Hi Frino,
I believe the one in my car is 2.7 lbs. PCA also requires a minimum 2.5 lb capacity FE. It is interesting to note that the factory option FE for the 997 is something like 1.5 lb capacity. I have seen posts where this has been OK and where it has not been!
I like that quick release and the black. Then again, I like bright colors.

Thanks for all the feedback. I don't think the safecraft or the bk bracket above works with the 997 Euro GT3 seats. These are the ones that are one piece and all carbon backs. Does anyone have a bracket connected to that type of seat?

Here's a bad photo of the types of seats I have.
