Default Eliminating the egg yolks

Sometimes the little things bother me. See before and after photos of the silver bulbs in place of the orange bulbs in my rear turn signals and side marker lights. These bulbs glow orange when lit, but virtually disappear when not lit. Cleans up the look of the clear lenses.

I ordered them here. I am not affiliated. Ordered online and had them in hand within a few days. http://www.xenonmods.com/

They are still orange when lit, which is what the law requires. The bulbs have a thin silver coating on them which makes them invisible when not lit. But when lit the orange shines through the silver.

Dan, I did try LEDs in the side markers but they threw a fault on the dash, and they remained lit after I shut off the ignition. (not sure how exactly that happened).

I believe you need to modify the wiring with some kind of electronic component (resistor??) to accomodate LEDs. I returned them.

Nice job. I did this as well when I first got my car. I went a little further and did the front blinkers also to get rid of the oranges. So now I'm practically monochrome (on Silver Arctic) except for the red light in the back and colored hood emblem.

I thought about doing this on the front turn signals as well but they are somewhat obscured behind some kind of silver ring. Did it make a big difference?

I liked it a lot, it completes it. To me it was like in the rear lights, no longer seeing oranges.

Car is seal grey. When I first saw the dealer photos, I wasn't sure I liked the wheels. But when I went to see the car, I loved them and I bought it on the spot. They are Carerra S wheels. A little dirty in the second photo. The high gloss black really pops up close when they are clean. And they hide brake dust very nicely versus silver wheels.
