Porsche IPOD hookup-new
My dealer tells me Porshe just came out with a hookup for an IPOD. Hooks right up to the Nav/radio screen, installed in the console glove box. Costs about $800. Anyone hear about this?

that may be the Dension unit that has been mentioned on this Board - I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get one - I can't bear FM Radio for much longer!

Not the Dension, for sure. You want Dension, come see me. You want the Porsche thingy, see a dealer. Good luck!

Are you sure that is for the current PCM and not the updated one? The 2009 997 has i-Pod and USB connections as options, and they are located inside the center console storage bin.

Go Dension; you won't be disappointed.

Looks like its a compact FM transmitter that plugs right into the 12V outlet in the center console.
Provides power to the ipod and its transmitter and sends that via an FM signal to the radio.
You select track on the ipod by using the ipod controls, and tune the radio to the preset frequency.
There is no PCM integration, as far as I can tell... given its user installed, just plug and go. Anyone know different?
