Thinking of upgrading my rear wing. Any thoughts?

Even if you're tracking the car, it's doubtful you would need the down-force in the rear of the car. ergo, wings make you look like a posuer. jmho

I think a wing upgrade for Sally would be very cool. How many drivers actually get the benefit of the down force. Hamann has a very cool conversion, with air intakes on both sides of the wing. It is made in Germany and I have not been able to find a US distributor. Anyone out there that knows how/where to procure, please post.

I think the poll should also ask the AGE of the respondent. I used to appreciate the fixed Carrera RSR tail I had on a past turbo, but find some of these things a bit over the top. Perhaps they are more suitable to the young racing crowd, but they are too much to me today.

Put the big honkin' wing on the Odyssey.
It'll still look ridiculous to anyone who understands what a rear wing actually does, but it'll keep you from making your 997 look like a Mitsubishi.

If you upgrade to either the GT2/3 Wing you MUST get the front aero kit. Otherwise; you'll look ricer-ish. IMHO.

The problem with the GT wings is they are just too big/much. They are for downforce, and I guess if thats what you are after, get them, but then you need the front to go with it to reduce the lift at the front.

I'd be interested in a rear wing or wing variant for the look, as it gives a more defined look to what is the 'back end' of the car... the way it slopes off without the tail is a but 'undefined' in my view.

What I'd like to see is a very subtle wing, thats not really a wing, but something in the shape of a very narrow wing thats there in addition to the automatically deploying spoiler. So with the spoiler down, you still have this added shape defining the sportier back, but the spoiler deploys as normally to fill in the inner opening, producing a larger spoiler effect in filling that hole.

Also aerodynamically unstable at high speed.

OEM Aero Kit makes the car. Don't let the wing haters dissuade you...if you're feeling it go for it!

Tis true, a good wing can add a great look. I'm just not interested in the lowered front clearance on changing the front end. With the roads, curbs, speed bumps and driveways I must negotiate every day, I'd like max front-side clearance. If we can get a GT2/3 style front end that balances a rear wing without having to get the front any closer to the ground, I'll be all over it (I love the black lips under the hood on those fronts)

OEM aerokit - superb I need one too (oh and I'm 54 this year so nothing to do with the "young racing crowd") It's a look thing not a performance thing for me but there will be some small advantage if you track it - Keep the Carrera badge on the lid though - it's not a GT3 after all.

When I had the PDI, the dealer told me this car has the GT3 spoiler. It pushes cold air to the X51 intake I think. It also has the replaceable strip in the front which is a must because it does scrape on the occasional driveway. It looks like the car Darth Vader would be driving, and the 12 year old boys love it. It is definitely a statement, but I don't feel particularly ethnic driving it. And I get nothing but compliments at 53.

I totally agree. I am more into the sport of Porsche. I on the other hand can not understand why people want luxury items in a pure breed sports car.
