I haven't read info about whether the X51 will be offered with the new 997. The TopGear review and some others I've read did not mention it.

If it is the exact same HP increase of 26 hp, then a 997S equipped with X51 would have 411 hp, meaning it has a better power to weight ratio than a stock 996 turbo, but not quite as good as the 997 turbo.

Is it possible that the X51 could yield more than 26 hp for this car?

 

Not sure if they'll offer a power kit for the 997 mkII until maybe next year (as an 09).

 

There doesn't seem to be an X51 option available. Let's hope there is one available. But that would bring the S with X51 too close to the GT3. I doubt will we see it until they have a higher hp GT3.

 

As the X-51 package was introduced with the Club Coupe's in '06 - I would suspect a year or two wait for said package to be available on the 997mkii cars...

 

There is discussion on the X51 on Rennteam. But it will approach GT3 territory...

 

Yes you guys are right but there's the weight difference too, but I suppose the GT3 will need a HP bump also.
