Thanks for the heads up. This car has undergone more flips than a politician's stand on an issue!

As is usually the case with this car, it is misrepresented. Sellers continue to cite it as a "special color" and so on. In 1997 Blue Turquoise was a standard color,--no additional charge whatsoever. In truth, it was a highly unpopular color. I have come to understand that color was only produced on perhaps 12 cars destined for California during the entire production year. Here's another one, alongside mine at a show a year ago.

Who are these people and why would they want this car?
I don't get it.

Wow. You might get a new GT2 for that price.

To attempt to answer Mussberger's question, I suppose to be able to kiss the seat where Jerry Seinfeld's *** once sat. But why people would want to own a car previously sold by a celebrity, I don't know --- seems to me the celebrity selling the thing indicates that it wasn't worth keepin in his collection anymore. I can see some added value for a car previously used by a political figure - but not a car previously owned by a living celebrity.

I'd love to see the actual window sticker where he claims that the $4K charge is shown for the color.

The way it's worded I think he means that the $4k was for flying the car to the USA.

Good news. You've got another chance to win item Porsche : 911

Oh boy! Buy it now is only $199,000!

It's a pretty car, and certainly a nice version that everyone favors (993 Turbo S) but their price tag reflects an unrealistic expectation.

"This 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo 'S' is the only one ever produced in the unique BLUE TURQUOISE color."

The above quote is from the ad. Unless he later edited it, it looks like he is just claiming the color/model/year combo to be "unique" - - and not a custom color.

Still, a crazy, crazy price that I wouldn't even think about paying.

The thing that makes me smile the most about the ex-Seinfeld car is that they had an entire episode about George buying a Chrysler LeBaron because he thought it was Jon Voight (the actor). It turned out it was previously owned by John Voight, the Pariodentist.

I like that 993 - but not for that price...
