Default Fabspeed bypass

I installed the bypass pipes on my Targa 4 last week. The sound is fantastic. I highly recommend them.

I mistakenly ordered two sets of pipes. I have a new set, still in the box if anyone is interested. They sell for $300 but I will let these go for $150.

Have a nice weekend.

I have the Fabspeed system sans the headers and I love it. Plan on adding headers and chip in the next year. Good Sounds! By the way, love the color of your Targa.

Woo hoo! Can't go wrong with Fabspeed stuff. HRE's are strong on that car.

How easy was the install. I would like something that I can change on and off if they are too loud.

I'm not a mechanical guy but my shop did it in under 30 minutes with a lift. I looks pretty simple and really frees up the rear of the car.

And they sound better in person. I'm not affiliated with them, but I don't understand why folks spend a lot of cash on tubi or other quality systems. The 997 just breathes with these things and has no resonance in the cabin.

I'm a big fan.

Default Aftermarket exhaust vs Fabspeed bypass

I have been thinking about changing my stock exhaust to possibly a Borla for the 997 but after listening to the Fabspeed bypass......why not just go with the Fabspeed? Are there any negatives vs an aftermarket system? How loud is the bypass vs aftermarket exhausts? Is there really no resonance?

I don't have a point of reference for other systems sans what I have heard on YouTube etc. Everyone agrees that the stock exhaust is most subdued so this is considerably louder.

Honestly the Porsche Sport Exhuast I had on my 986s had more resonance in the cabin than these do.

For the uneducated in the crowd, do these bypass pipes "replace" the mufflers altogether?, or are they similar to the Dfister Muffler HAck, where two new pipes are welded into the crosspipe? Either way, the car in that video sounded STRONG. Me likey

Replace the muffler all together. It took a bit getting used to as there is a big gap behind the rear wheels where the mufflers were formerly. You can't notice it on the ground but under the car via a lift, there are two great big caverns. You can see how the car loses 50 lbs at the wheel edges which is exactly where you want to lose the weight on a RWD or AWD car.

I was gassing up and a gent with a 987 couldn't believe the sound as I pulled in. Best bang for the buck mod out there if you ask me.

I bet he likes it better when you pulled out and got on it just a tad!!

I wonder what it would sound like with the 200 cell cats, now THAT would be loud! I heard a PSE with X51 headers and 200 cell cats and it sounds nice!

For the money, you can't go wrong if this is the sound you're looking for. I wonder what they do with a PSE system muffler harness?
