Never drove a E36 but owned 2 E46's and it was much easier to heel/toe with the sport button on! That was the one reason I thought about the SC but glad I didnt waste the money on it. The 997 is much easier to heel/toe and drive smoother than my old E46.

Default RUFs real

I should not even be wasting my time with you anymore but you asked...... the RUF's (although heavy) are 100% authentic and real. And the car is Not a VIN Ruf, in case you try and claim thats what I was going for.

And who is being deceptive I came out and announced to all in the very begining I powder coated the calipers. Where is this so called deception?

Starting to get the sense your a little kid using daddy's computer......someday you may own a real porsche and some PCCB's. For now its time for sleepy time.......grab your binky and call it a night.....

Imagine on a Rolex forum if a poster uploaded pictures of the fake he purchased on Canal Street to achieve the look of the real thing and then basically said, “Hey guys, look at this!” Do you suppose someone would say something?
The point is on a 997 yellow calipers mean PCCB. If you want to be deceptive on a Porsche Forum I would expect someone to balk at it. For me I am proud of what I have and don’t try to make it look like something it’s not.
Keep in mind this is just my opinion. But now I also wonder if the RUF wheels are real or fakes with RUF center caps installed.

Looks great! Nice car and well done. Have yellow calipers on my C2S-actually GT3's and for our friend who was so put out about yellow calipers......have Mexico Blue calipers on my GTI's S3/R32 caliper/rotor combo.
Again-nice car.

Mcfluff,
Obviously you are going to do what you want. My opinion though-driving around in PCCB look a like yellow painted calipers on your 977 is classless. At least you got the real RUF rims to go with the center caps. (Not sure why you went with the real ones- could have saved money there also)
As far as me, my driving style and other such baseless attacks? Well obviously you don't know me so you can't even really go there. My opinion is on what you have done.
Bottom line: There are those that think posing PCCBs is wrong.
As I said though you are going to do what you want so enjoy the car.

Default 2006997c4scab = move on

There are no knock of RUF's available to date but we all know where they sell knock off 19 sport designs very similiar to the ones on your papa's car..... http://www.wheeldynamics.com/Wheels.html =

Buddy, I have listened to your reteric now in a few posts. Not your taste great, there are ways to communicate that.....I get it, your trying to convince yourself that your a real purist by attacking the autenticity of other peoples auto/parts/mods and referring to them as classless for doing something "not factory" to their car. Or making such a comparison as adding a turbo emblem, a bit much I think........So we are all clear you despise every 993 or 996 owner that adds newer style porsche wheel to their car, (like the black P-car that was on the front page of rennlist forum for months?) or anyone that swaps out a exhaust tip that resmbles another models tip, or uses a bypass valve to deepen the tone of their exhaust to sound more like PSE? If someone adds a gt3 steering wheel to their car are they classless or maybe a wing but not the full aerokit? To me they are car enthusiastats never the less....Just proves how little value you add to this forum. Move on if your smart little man.....

I guess for me I am proud to have the real thing and guys that paint theirs yellow just diminishes the uniqueness of that systems look, from afar anyway. Kind of like putting RUF center caps on non-RUF wheels or even putting a “Turbo” badge on the back of a non-turbo. This reminds me when I had my M3 I saw a 325i with an M3 on the back. He was parked next to me. His opinion was since he had bought the larger M wheels and had some light engine work and suspension improvements it was just “like” and M3. Pathetic in my opinion. I would expect that from some ricer or low end BMW owner but not from someone with a 997.
Red, black as well as yellow brake calipers on Porsches actually mean something. Well to most people anyway.
Let me guess your next mod, a 997S badge to put on the rear deck lid?
thanks for your opinion, but uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,
it's his / her car to do with as they wish.
just as it is for me and you to do.

"fake look pccb's" ????????????
the rotors don't look anything like carbon ceramic to me and i know <grin> because i have one one my desk, but not on any of my cars.
maybe next year ?

be safe

craig

ewwwwwwwwww you used to own an m3, very very tacky imo

I thought I'd toss in my two cents,....since it's at most what it's worth...

McFluff is obviously very enthusiastic about his p-car and enjoys it tremendously. I think this describes quite a few of us here. While I have not met Mr McFluff, I almost certainly will at some point if he keeps orchestrating Boston area fun rides.

Now,...I'll admit that I think that yellow caliper paint is not the best choice SOLELY because people MIGHT think you're posing. However, as mentioned above, when someone just likes the way yellow calipers look,....then WHY NOT? I thought about painting my big reds with SY paint simply to match the rest of my car,....but I did worry what people would think (despite my mother raising me not to worry about what others think!).

BTW, want to see "pornstar pink calipers?" - BoxsterGirlie did them over on TS....I think they're a riot in a good way.

So,...Mr. McFluff,...keep on modding the way you see fit and I'll see you one of these weekends.

Amen. I probably would not have painted my calipers yellow, but mcfluff has a really good looking 911. He can always paint them back to stock if he so chooses. The car works, it doesen't shout. Very tasteful mods that are a understated but still distinctive. Half of the fun of owning a car is personalizing it to make it your own, or not. It is a personal decision. What we are taliking about is perceptions. If you like an certain accent I don't think that negates your love of Porsche or makes you a poseur.

Hell, I've seen some god awful aftermarket wings, aero kits, wheels, and bumpers on lots of expensive 911's. Can you say "pimp my ride"? I think it becomes more a matter of taste in those instances and they can indeed go over the edge. Not so with mcfluff. I still like it.

hmmm... maybe you should change your name to "2006997C4SCabwrealPCCBsandmuchmuchmore" so that every one knows what you have...

did you really order the car with PCCBs for the sake of "knowing you have them" and because you "hate brake dust"... or did the car you buy just happen to have them, and now that you got 'em you are sooooo proud of 'em... either way, i give 1000x more respect to mickfluff who did a good job with his car. opinions are one thing, but coming off the way you do just means your a class A jackass...

you bought a porsche because of the statement it makes to other people, not for the pleasure that driving it gives to you... i'll bet mickfluff has put on more "REAL" driving time during his short ownership stint than you will for the rest of your life.

sad thing is that i've met the 2 distinct types of pcar owners.... the first are the real enthusiasts, who love driving, and love it when people old, young, rich or poor get involved in porsches. they help young 20somethings buy that first 1999 996 and are happy at the enthusiasm the youngster has...

then there are the second types, who buy porsche because its eliteist. who make comments like "well i have real PCCBs"... all i can say is get a life... ok im going back over to 6speed for a while. ppl seem to be more friendly there and like seeing it when people fix up their cars, whether or not it suits their taste....
