Maybe why Annapolis and NJ dealerships are..
..slow to open?
Would you want to sell off this sticker or to some Yank groaner who wants 10% off the US price? (I groan ..I understand groaning)
It's that old tier'd pricing game (the easy one for us to monitor was US/CDN) ...and maybe Porsche D-land doesn't really need to sell as many cars at a major discount to their poor cousins any longer?!
as of 7 June = $174,893.73 USD
Thanks to FlyingFinn to taking the pic...

"Value Added Tax: From 1.1.2007 ,in most cases, value added tax is 19%."
.........Awwwwwwww! Another great idea subject to the Coriolis Effect. The VAT off knocks it down to about $141K. Buggers.
"There is a reduced rate of 7% that relates mainly to food and agricultural products.
Value added tax is imposed on assets and services in Germany as well as on imports into Germany.
Overseas exports are exempt from value added tax.
Value added tax reports must be submitted monthly.
There are special provisions for small businesses."

The same car would be about Eu 137,000 here in Ireland. That includes 30% VAT.

Yeah I feel the European pain. But in Canada we get whip-sawed both ways.
A $109k Porsche in US costs $138k in Canada (right off the PCNA site). US dealers can't sell a new car to a Canadian for fear of PCNA reprisal, so for the most part, we are stuck paying the 30% premium if we want a new car. Plus we have very little dealer-to-dealer competition with our vast geography. Smile while you pay MSRP.
Yet in the used market, used cars immediately (again, for the most part) depreciate to the US value because used US cars CAN be brought into Canada. In fact many are - I'd bet that the used market is dominated by US cars.
So you if you buy new in Canada you pay a premium AND take an immediate hit in resale value. Insane. But like our federal finance minister says, it's the consumers that are stupid for not insisting on parody with US pricing from manufacturers. Solution should be easy - vote with our checkbooks.
But sales are up in Canada - go figure...
