Default Convertible 2S vs. Coupe 4s

I recently traded in my 2006 C4S coupe for new C2S Cabrio. I never really was a convertible fan but this car is really growing on me. I also beleive that I prefer the two wheel drive to the all-wheel.

Is it the steering feel than you prefer in 2WD? or did you feel other driving difference between 2 vs 4WD? I drove my brother's C4S coupe and find that it drives very similar to my C2S.

Congrats on nice C2S cab.

It is the steering feel I believe. The car just seems lighter and more nimble. I have to say that I think the C4S coupe is one of the best looking Porsches ever.

Congrats.

In your neck of the woods, I can see the benefit of going 2WD.

I also went from an awd coupe to a rwd cab and the driving experience is night and day. The car is much more nimble, has more communicative steering, and you can make it move round more on the road. In winter (not that you would care in San Antonio) you just slap on winter tires and drive straight past all those "invincible" SUV's.

Texas is made for C2S cabs. Next up, you need to make the short jaunt up the road to San Marcos for some laps at Harris Hill Road sometime.

Funny, I was thinking of going to an awd targa s, but the dealer sold it before I could even look at it. I think I'll stay with my carrera S cab.

Congratulations on your new ride!

Ditto here. 16 years of AWD coupes, (not all Porsche's), and rwd vert's - last is an XK8. Took the plunge for a C2S after driving back to back with a 4S. For me, there was a noticable difference in "sharpness".

Even in Colorado and Montana, great snow tires make the 2S fully competent while the vert stays inside. The 4S may be superior for acceleration in snow but my fun-o-meter pegs with rwd year round.

I am just the opposite. I now prefer the feel of the 4 to the 2. When I purchased my 07 Targa I didnt have a choice and not love the neutral tolerance throught the corners. The confidence factor for those of without a ton of track experience really helps as well. I drove my friends C2S the other day and dont' get me wrong I wouldn't kick either car out of the garage but you can really feel the 4 pick up on the exits.

Tough to go wrong with either choice. Feel is certainly subjective.

A few other thoughts. The reason for the multifunction steering wheel escapes me although the carbon looks pretty cool. Not really much difference in the bose and standard sound system to me anyway. I think I prefer the standard shifter to SSK I had before. I really miss the PSE.

I ALSO MISS THE PSE-maybe what we have to do is just get it installed. probably cost a little more than a grand i guess. i do miss the exhaust note.
