Default engine misfiring or ?? 2006 Carrera 2S

Driving home today, car just did not feel "right"

At first I thought maybe I picked something up on a tire. Car almost seemd to be bucking a little or at a minimum holding back.

When I got off the highway I held it for a while at low (3K) steady revs. Upon acceleration , did not have any pop. Almost felt like a misfire on one cylinder or something. Maybe my imagination, but I just cleaned my tailpipes and the driver's side pipes look to have more lalck soot than the lpass side. side. Right engine bank mis firing or running rich ?

No warning lights. Car had about 1/2 tank of gas 4500 miles on odometer.

Made appt to bring in to dealer on Tuesday. . Any direction would be appreciated because I don't want one of those--never seen that before or its not doing it now kind of service visits. Did a search but other descriptions did not seem to be the same issue.

Sounds like the 997 "hesitation issue."

Maybe I'll fill then tank tomorrow and see if it goes away. My route to the dealership is a traffic nightmare right now due to road construction, so a trip in to the dealer is not on my "want to do" list.

My wife's A-6 is in for service right now with an intermittent CEL, my Mini goes in tomorrow due to a broken hood latch and now my baby is acting like SYBIL. I did put Shell gas in the car last fill up. I usually use Mobil. BUT, no issues with the first 150 miles of fuel consumption from the Shell fill up.

Very strange and the first hiccup since I got the car.

PS..I did learn something when changing out to all the all red tail lights. Even though all the lights worked perfectly, the car showed a check left tail light warning on the dash. It took turning the headlights ON and OFF to clear the dash warning.

Agree that the first suspect might be the infamous 'hesitation issue'. Try to fill up the tank and drive a little more, and see if the problem presists.

With best regards,

This is the same symptom as the "Hesitation – jerking while cruising" thread. Frankly, with all the cars out there on the streets I find it impossible to believe that the factory hasn't experienced it themselves.

It has happened to me too. It seems to go away on its own.
