Default No More Waiting -- I'm Back In. :-)

Well, after the rollercoast of earlier this year with my C4S order that I cancelled for various reasons, I'm happy to say that I'm finally back in to a Porsche.

I sold my previous Porsche (a 993 C4 Cab) 16 months ago and started looking for a 997 C4S about 7 months ago. Although the 993 was more of a garage queen than anything, my intent with the 997 was to make it my daily, year-round driver.....thus the C4S.

I was searching for a used 1-2 year old C4S coupe and in doing so I stumbled upon a 2007 997 Turbo. Heck, a Turbo is AWD and "practical", I said to myself.

After flying out to look and test drive the car, I had a PPI and DME scan performed. The DME scan was "interesting"--there were "5" ignitions in Range 1 and that was it. Very nice.

Although the vehicle was in state, I had a hard time coordinating the pickup due to my schedule. But, thankfully, things fell in place this past weekend and a friend of mine drove me 3 hours one way to pick it up.

Needless to say, the drive home was fun.....although I surprised myself with my unusual restraint.

Anyway, here are the stats:

2007 Porsche 997 Turbo (5,000 miles)
Slate Grey Metallic
Black Full Leather
Adaptive Sport Seats
Axle-Differential Lock Rear
Heated Front Seats
Sport Chrono Package
Storage Compartment Lid W/Model Logo
Turbo Floor Mats - Interior Color
Exterior Package Painted
Standard Rocker Panels Painted
Painted Model Designation Rear Lid
Rear Center Console Painted Exterior Color
Trim Strip Painted Exterior Color

3M Clear Bra
Escort SR7 Detector (front/rear)

Plus the "standard" options on the Turbo (some of them):
Navigation
PASM
PSM
Bi-Xenon
Etc.

A few pictures of pickup...

As much as they excel in other areas, Turbos have a tough time competing in terms of exhaust note. Sharkwerks sells a tubi race exhaust that is the best I've heard thus far, but it still is not as pure (in my opinion) as a stock 997 with PSE.

EDIT:

Here's the Turbo with the tubi race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7gFWzo0kiE

And the 997 w/ PSE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4l3E...eature=related

Obviously, the videos never do justice, but it gives an idea.

Beautiful car. I see it's already attracting (really) young girls.

I just cannot understand why anyone would do that.....

NOT!

AWESOME. Congrats on the 'new' ride. Cute kids too. Start 'em young. You'll pay for it later.

Congrats! Great choice and definitely the way to go if you want all four tires spinning.

Thanks, guys.

As far as exhaust note goes, Aaron is right. The exhaust note on the turbo is not as agressive as the PSE on the NA 997s.
