Default Dension products

What is the approximate cost for Dension ipod adapter and installation? I know some threads have mentioned self installation, but I think I would opt for someone else installing mine as I am challenged in such endeavors. Thanks for your help.

A reputable shop in my area quoted me $500 to install.

I self-installed mine in the front trunk. $500 seems pretty steep, even if they installed behind the PCM and ran the cable and switch box to the center console or glove box (which would be the only reason to not DIY & put it all in the trunk).

The high end audio guys near me whom I would (and have in the past) trust to work on my Porsches charge $60/hr. and it shouldn't take a pro worth his salt 2 hours to do it. Heck it took me 4, and I dropped the last screw which forced me to tear out all the trunk trim I just put back. And with the tools and know-how, a cockpit install should be faster.

I spent some time going through some of the earlier threads and saw what others did. I got mine installed in about 45 minutes. Granted I have everything I needed to do the install and I'm pretty handy at this.

We have a few links to install threads we send along to customers who want to do this on their own. Not rocket science, just need some patience.

I'm no expert and found the install pretty simple.
I spent about 20 minutes pulling apart the plastic that covers the CD changer.
About 20 minutes later I had everything hooked up and listening to my ipod through the pcm.
Spent about 45 minutes making the install look very professional with wires hidden and such.
Then about 20 more minutes to put everything back together.

Again, I thought it was very simple, but I leave my ipod in the front area all of the time and didn't pass it through to the glove box or center console.
