Anyone used AcePowersticks to clean their wheels? See below link.

Never used them. I have never found any short cuts to cleaning wheels properly. Its just hard tedious work. I cut my teeth on Borrani's when I was a kid working at an independent Ferrari shop in OC. We had one customer that had a beautiful yellow Daytona spider and nobody was allowed to work on it unless he was watching.

Above link is to a detail that Phil did using the APS. He's a top notch guy to deal with and offers fantastic customer service as well.

...or simply order the PCCBs... ;-) I'm too old to be cleaning wheels!

With PCCBs you can just wipe the wheel clean with a microfiber towel.

ever since I bought a floor jack, I've been taking the wheels off and clean them with just water and a boar hair brush.

I cleaned them up really nicely when they were new (Dawn wash), then applied Klasse AOI followed by Klasse Sealant. Most brake junk rinses off, but when I hand wash the car I use an old cotton washcloth on the wheels (using the same car detergent, less than a capful in two gallons of warm water). Rinse the washcloth in the hose before dipping in the soapy water. My fingers plus the washcloth seems to clean better than any brush or other tool I've tried.
And I always think about how hard to clean any wheels are before I buy them! Currently using Carreera III for winter (simple five spoke design, nothing easier except four spokes), and Lobster Forks for summer (harder to clean, but still easier than basket weaves).

As noted above, the PCCBs on my 997 don't require much effort. For the 928 wheels, I use P21S wheel cleaner, a three finger foam mit, and synthetic foam mounted on plastic handles available from Griot's Garage. With the exception of about 3 or 4 months of water restrictions here in Raleigh (recently lifted), the 928s wheels are washed every week to keep the brake dust from damaging the wheels. Also note that the wheels should be cold when you wash them to prevent your cleaner from damaging the finish. Every three month the wheels come off for a complete cleaning and coat of wax.
