Not sure if you guys have seen the LED tails working on other cars (E46 M3, AM Vantage, Audi A8, etc). They are really cool how much quicker they go on and off -- and they are bright. Plus all the non-visible benefits (longer life, less energy, etc.).
Yes, those LED do looks cool and bright but you now have to change the whole tail light instead of one bulb.

TH, correct, but the idea is they don't burn out like incadescent bulbs.

I'll take the bigger mirrors any day over the tiny ones on there now. I've always hated the size.

Yep.

Ferraris and Lambos all have adequately sized mirrors. Now finally the 997 will get some too.

It's not for looks.

It's for function.

And that's what a sportscar should be all about - function first.

I agreed, but you never know about those PCBAs.

Actually, I don't remember the last time I change any bulb in my car.

The colour in the first pics must be the new "Cream White" - any thoughts?

I saw it in person. I was not crazy about it. But color is such a personal choice.

One of the things I like the most on the "current" 997 is the design of the mirrors... why change it? am I missing something?...

You mean, why improve them?

I can't believe it's not obvious to you guys that at higher speeds, the easier it is to see, the safer the maneuvers of the driver.

A correlation can indeed be made between the size of a car's side mirrors and its top speed.

The smaller its mirrors, the slower its top speed. The larger its mirrors, the faster its top speed.

You've just discovered why some of the Formula 1 guys are slower than the rest!!! tssk tsk... and they spend millions to eek out meager speed gains... when all they have to do is enlarge the mirrors! hehehe....

Yes, I think the current mirrors provide more than enough visibility.
