Model Year Changes 05 through 08
I'm shopping for an S cab and have had a tough time trying to nail down the changes through the 997 series.
05 to 06 C4 introduction, sports exhaust available
06 to 07 TPMS becomes standard equipment
07 to 08 nothing except a couple of color changes/shuffles
am I missing anything else here?

MY05 cars also suffered from some rear suspension assembly errors. Perhaps they have been resolved by now. Even with Porsche, there are growing pains with a new model release. Not everything gets caught.
TPMS became standard in MY07.
More varied wheels became available as the 4 versions came out (most notibly the XRR wheels,---Carrera Sports, which boast a 1/2 inch width gain over both front and rear rims. They are still the widest (including the turbo) wheels provided for a 911. (Exceptions are the 997GT3 (12in rear) and the 997GT3RS.
Best of luck tracking down your car. Colors you have in mind?

My preference is 07 C2S cab, frankly I'm taken with the Carrera Red leather that's seen in the RS60 Boxster and 997s. Seems to pair well with a number of external colors.
I'm also a big fan of cobalt blue with sand or grey interiors.
Guards red is always good and I'm partial to terracotta/black two-tone - it looks great in a white or black car, sand and white also pair well.
Rusnak in Sherman Oaks has an excellent slate/carrera red 997S cab sitting in the showroom, but it's new. Didn't see anything that caught my eye as I passed through Santa Barbara, but I'm thinking I wouldn't mind buying place there - I'll have to spend a bit more time snooping around those parts on my next road trip.
