PCA Porsche Parade in Charlotte, NC
Any PCA members signed up for the Porsche Parade event in NC this year? Wondering if any fellow Rennlisters will also be heading out to this event.
I plan on driving down from NY on the 27th, the agenda looks great.

It will be great (by definition). And don't forget to sign up for the Technical and Historic Quiz (I'm the Chair for the event). I have tried to make it less difficult and more fun than it has been at some previous Parades.

Not a big fan of 'city' Parades......and been going to Parades for many years.
OK , I don't golf, so it's easy for me to say.....it's pretty hard to find a better use for a beautiful rolling fairway...... than a Porsche concours.

This year's Concours will be on the steets of Downtown Charlotte, near the host hotel (Westin), similar to what was done at the Fort Worth Parade in 2004. I plan to have my car in the "corral", as I won't have time to prepare it properly for the Concours. The available tours and Rally will get you out of the city, so don't let that hold you back. I hope to see some of you there.

I also registered for the Concours event, this will be my first Porsche Parade and after a long winter I'm really looking forward to it!

Bob,
I'll be sure to look for you and your car. I have been a Concours judge the last 4 Parades, and have volunteered to judge again this year (don't know, yet, what Group, Division or Class). You're going to love the air-conditioned Concours Prep area (after you wash your car).

if i happen to be in the area, but didn't register for the parade, can i buy a tix they day of the event, say a concours, or some other "viewing" event? not thinking about driving/DE/ dinnner of sorts.

You need to register to participate in the events and banquets, and spend money at the Goodie Store The concours will be on the streets of downtown Charlotte, and as such, is in a public venue, so you are free to see the cars. The other "viewing" event would be the autocross at the Speedway. I don't think you would have any trouble watching that if you bring your PCA membership card, but check the Parade website for the Autocross Chair's E-mail address, and ask him to be sure.
