I met the previous owner online at Rennlist (993 or 993 Turbo forum) and he paid a fortune for the car from Sloan when they were selling it for Jerry. They misrepresented the car as these cars are, sort of. In 1997 the 3AS Blue Turquoise was NOT a Paint To Sample at all. It was, in fact, a no up-charge color. (In other words, cost nothing.) It just proved to be a less popular color. Reportedly only about 12 993s were delivered to California in that color. Perhaps twice that number to the USA. The current owner has been collecting 993 Turbo S cars,--apparently he has decided he has one too many. He was not pleased to hear that it wasn't a special Paint To Sample.

Interesting.

I think I remember seeing Sloan marketing the car for a jaw-dropping amount.

Truspeed was asking low $200's for it. It is a great looking car. Almost as cool as the orange c4s there right now.

The Turbo S is in another coolness league compared to the C4S.

For $200 there are other cars I would buy (F430??? GT2???) although this one is very unique and has Porschefile celebrity ownership.
