Hey look who's back!! Welcome back big guy!![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
How's the Sirius holding up? I may have to move the antenna up just a hair more to get better coverage.
Back to topic:
Still waiting to hear where the "update" can be had for $300.00 from Larry.

Yeah I have reception issues too. I guess we know why Porsche did not have the option available! I need a better antenna solution.

I can only say that I have used it effectively in Europe. Over there you get both a visual clue on the screen (many little triangles representing backing up traffic ahead of you) and an audible track where that sweet young thing tells you to exit the autobahn, take a secondary road for awhile, and then reenter the autobahn. It works well over there,--no reason it shouldn't work well here.

So for those of you who have done the upgrade can you share the experience and let us all know about the traffic overlay on the map display? I am anxious for the feedback so I can determine if I should purchase the upgrade.

Also has anyone activated the Nav Traffic feature to their installation of XM Radio or Sirius Radio on a radio installed on a 997.
Thanks

I should be able to answer this Saturday after I get my car back from the dealer (getting a bunch of stuff done + Nav update).

Alright, I'm seriously bummed. I've had the nav update for a few days now and no sign of real-time anywhere. Of course, I haven't yet actually NAVIGATED INTO a traffic jam around Boston to see what happens, but it doesn't seem hopeful.
As an aside, the maps are faster and the detail is better, and as expected, the veyr latest road updates (important around BOSTON!) are in and are very accurate. A side road that went in just a few months ago is actually represented, which is impressive.
If anyone figures out the real-time traffic feature, please do post here to let us know how it works.

There is a link in the first post on this thread about the company supposedly supplying the traffic information. There is a 'contact us' section on that site. Perhaps try contacting them and ask them what the deal is. Maybe you do need a subscription, or you need the radio tuned to a specific station, or you need to be in third gear, who the heck knows. But i would try contacting them!
If you get a response, please post here! I am waiting to see if this works before buying this upgrade.
Edit: LOL! Looks like YOU posted that first post in the thread! Call those guys and ask them what the deal is!!!!

From TTN last week FYI!
"Larry,
While we appreciate your interest, we do not supply Porsche with traffic information. Please contact your dealer for information on a traffic provider, if one exists for your vehicle.
Apologies,
Kevin Loftus
Total Traffic Network"
