Key stuck in ignition
#16
If my light switch is inadvertently kept in the furthest position to the right, without the key being in the ignition, my headlights will stay on until they run the battery cold. Don't really think this is a system problem with my car -- only a design shortcoming (defect?). Perhaps there is a setting with the Sport Chrono that I need to be checking into.

Ahhhh, if only you had checked out http://mobile.coochas.com you would have been able to see what was going on.
Oops sorry,....did I do a shameless self-plug?

Page 131 of the 2006 Manual states in relevant part:
"If the ignition key is withdrawn and the door is opened while the lights (not the parking light or Welcome Home lighting) are on, a chime warns of possible battery discharge.
In some countries, differences are possible due to provisions of law."
So, maybe that explains it -- North American delivered 997s don't have auto shut-off headlamps?
