Default On Vessel

My car left yesterday and should be in Brunswick by 3/23, which would have been an optimistic arrival date even without the week delay at the factory. They didn't waste any time at all getting my car on a boat, and apparently I got a non- stop boat. Seat cushions might not be dry after all. Sorry to keep dumping the play by play on you guys. I just simply don't know anyone who can relate like you guys can. Wife is probably tired of hearing about it and others seem to have a hint of jealousy or don't really give a damn. I do have a very small cheering section in my brother and my best bud, but they don't get it like Rennlisters do.

Oh the anticipation...congrats! When I finalized my purchase while on vacation, all I could think of was the day I'd get home to go pick it up. I don't think my mind was on the vacation the rest of the time. I can't even begin to fathom waiting for a car for months like you guys!

You get the name of the vessel? We could run an Interpol scan on the crew...

Congratulations! I remember well when mine was "on vessel." I even tracked its progress through the Panama Canal! When it arrived at the port of embarkation I actually called the stevedores to see if they had the car. "The blue one? Yea,--we know the car. It's okay."

I have the updated schedule on the Links page....

Atlixco is not a direct Germany to Brunswick ride, it stops in Halifax first on or around 3/19.

Marty, I'm sure the factory blew up because I overloaded the computer by making so many changes to my order, so I apologize for your car's wet interior....

The wait will be over sooner than you think.

Hi Marty,

This summer my wife was waiting for her Mini and I remember that, doing some research (starting on) the thread below, I was able to even learn how to access video tapes of the ship passing through the Panama Canal. I'm sure there are other useful threads on the forum also (search on boat/ship/vessel tracking). The Mini owners-to-be are much more fanatical than we P-car folks when it comes to being antsy while waiting. I think that is because you can't buy a Mini off the lot - they all must be ordered. They form support group threads for every ship (i.e. "all aboard the Boehme" and "week 7 support group")

Good luck,
Rick

Yep, it is on the Atlixco, due 3/23. I've already checked all of the ship tracking sites I could find and I can't find its current position. Thanks for the well wishes and thanks to Eric for the schedule. Here is a pic of the ship - hope the car is a lot sexier.

I share your excitement. Hope those of us with hydro models are not going to have any issues

Norsk, I just saw your other thread announcing your expected arrival. Congrats - Metor and black will be a very nice combo. Do you know when your car is due into port?

Not yet. The dealer is thinking mid-April delivery to MN. Enough time for the streetsweepers to get rid of this ____ salt.
