Isn't the manual switch for tight ractracks so you can just put it up, rather than it going up and down each lap? The other reason, of course, is so you can raise it to wash under there.

I tell my wife that she also has a spoiler on her Boxster for cooling and aerodynamics

"really .. what ? .. really.. ? where ?........ahh..cool .. ok bye hon.."

and she is off again

Then again.. I like mine up as well time to time.... and know exactly the button to push !

BTW.. I LOVE that Boxster.. its one of the best cars I have ever driven...

I wish I could talk my wife into one!! I am not sure there is a better summer car for New Jersey's traffic and speeds.

Ever since I found out it was 75 my spirited sprints on the highway have been increased by an additional 25mph
I hate when I get behiond a snail going 49mph in a 55mph zone.

I guess it isn't so bad, Then I just have to do the whole thing over again.

It automatically comes up at speeds over 50mph or you can manually raise it with the button on the lower left. Howard

Well, here is the real answer:
-Engine compartment <122F Up at 75, down at 37 mph
-Engine compartment >140F Up at 50, down at 19 mph

My question is: what are the parameters between 122-140F ???????

I was at a 'vette challenge yesterday and most had their hood up to cool the car before the race. May be there is some truth there?!

Those experiencing a spoiler deployment lasting longer than four hours should consult with their doctor immediately...

Maybe the guy has a supercharger bolted on.. enhanced cooling.
Nice vid, Coochas.
