Question Regarding Paint to Sample

I have been searching up and down for the right shade of blue for my upcoming order, and I think I've found it. I am completely sold on Aston's Glacial Blue (here's an example of it: http://www.astonmartin-lotus.com/inv...product_id=560).
My only concern: it does look similar to Azurro California, which I understand Porsche made exclusive to the Club Coupe. Any opinions as to how close the colors actually are, and whether Porsche would actually care about the similarity to Azurro? Thanks.

If you like it, I love it. If you are paying PTS pricing I bet you Porsche will love it too.
But it makes a Porsche look like a BMW. Club coupe or not.
My dos centavos.

I hear you on the ulcer thing.
White. White metallic ( like the pearl escalades?) . Macadamia maybe? There was an orange one, in Houston, on ebay. They have the saffron color targa on the cover of the 911 book in the dealership. I hate blue maybe. Last Porsche color I would buy is blue. Particularly at a PTS premium.
On the spectrum of issues, it is a high class problem. Have fun.

By the way, if you want Azurro California Blue, you can get it as a paint to order from Porsche. The color was exclusive to the Club Coupes only for the 2006 model year. As far as the Aston color you asked about, I doubt Porsche would care about closeness of the two, and they don't seem that close to me although it's hard to tell in pictures.
Azurro California has almost a diamond like metallic flake in it that doesn't photograph--here's a picture of my Club Coupe up close which barely shows its flake.

Thanks everybody. From reading about Edgy01's experience it sounds like I should probably abandon the "here's a picture, paint it this color" strategy and try to find a color Porsche already knows. Anniversary definitely looks good. Will the dealer have a comprehensive paint codes/swatches book to look through, or should I try to access this information elsewhere? Thanks again.

My recommendation is to find a previous Porsche color that you like,--it's a bit more predictable with Porsche that way. Also, in the event you need to either touch up or repaint something it's a lot easier providing a paint code than having a shop experiment over and over again to get it a match. There are several very nice light blue metallics out there that Porsche has used in the past to choose from. Good luck, and congratulations for considering Paint To Sample. Although mine was a bit of a headache, it was all worth it in the end!

I hadn't considered the touch-up/repair issue, but that's a great point.

I know you said no silver, but check out Polar Silver - it has a LOT of blue in it. Another possibility is the same color of my RS4, Avus Silver. Depending on the light, it looks light gray, light blue, or silver. Very easy to keep clean, and definitely would show off the lines of a P-car. I had Seal Gray on my 997S and that was another great color (light changes the shade, easy to keep clean, etc.).
