Default Is that a coat hook, I see?

Yes, this may be the most trivial question asked here tonight, but given the marvelous wonder of German engineering we all love to drive, how is it that the coat hook fits no hanger in my house?

I finally went to use it to hang a sports coat - that's what it's there for, right? There is no way any hanger I have fits around the small tab that constitutes the hook. I couldn't even get a wire hanger to work if I bent the hook. Does Porsche sell some special hanger?

Surely, if they go to the trouble of installing even this small unobtrusive device, there is some intent to provide functionality.

A rubber O-ring and then my hanger hooked to it could not have been the original design plan.

Yes, I know - just lay the coat down and don't question these things. If I wanted a truly superb coat hook, I could have bought a Kia.

Is there a Porsche Design part number for that?

For the O-ring? Hell no, but I can get one for two cents and sell it for $79.99 and everyone will swear it came from the Porsche design collection.

We can call it the Porsche design coat hanger adapter. How can it miss?

I think it's designed to hang the cloth directly without a cloth hanger...

I never have any problem with coat hooks. I once hang 4 jackets in the car after I pick them up from the dry cleaner. The hook on the back of the seat is pretty much useless, but the coat hook above the seat belt height adjustment is fine and just function like any other car.

There's a coat hanger hook in a 997? Where?

Works just for me. I hang my sports coat on a coat hanger there all the time. Yes it does not go in all the way but enough for the hanger to not fall off.

Thanks for the pic.

Maybe you should spend more time in the back seat of the car and let your friends drive. Then you'd notice what a nice coat hanger you have back there. It's amazing that someone can spend all this money on a car, and only sit in the front seat!

The one on the back of the seat is to hang your coat, etc. by the "fabric loop" of the garment sewn in near the collar...

Holy crap. After over three years of ownership, I finally figure out where to put my dry cleaning.

You are welcome.
