Anyone not getting from Valentine has to verify the serial number before buying.
They track the units and will not upgrade or repair a unit that has been reported stolen.

also, i believe the warranty and upgrades are available only to the original direct purchaser.

Love the V1. IMHO I don't think the used discount is worth it-just buy new direct from Mike's website. Don't get the remote. The main unit is fine. I got lasered last week 65 in a 45. The V1 worked fine but a laser hit is a laser hit. FYI-it was an access road without any other traffic. I'm looking at a k40 now.

You'll need to run a line with telephone cord for power and then another telephone cord to your remotes. That's how I did mine. I like having the controls close to the stick shift so that I can squelch the alert without have to reach up constantly.
