I purchased mine directly from Valentine.

I have the Escort Passport X50...had it three years...no issues here in FL Is the Valentine that much better? Worth trading in my passport?

The V1 is king - I EBayed my Escort after zero laser warning time.
I believe Valentine is direct only. In the aftermarket, get the serial number and look it up on their web site to see if has the latest upgrades. The shell has been the same from the beginning so you can always buy upgrades instead of buying new detectors when technology advances.

If you want situational awareness the V1 is the only way to go. The rest just beep at you.

Unless you're buying used, there is nowhere else to buy except from them directly. They don't use any indirect channels.

Several companies sell Valentine 1,--but many times there is an upcharge. Buy direct. Seek out "Another Valentine 1" installation (search) for a method to install it. I elected to buy the remote audio and visual displays for my installation. The directional aspect of the V1 is first rate,--and critical to SA.

Dan -

Quick question--how is the remote visual display coupled to the detector (wireless, single cord, etc.)?

The dealer has agreed to hardwire the detector to the overhead console (with self dimming mirror switched power) once my car comes in.

The provided "socket" that you plug the V1 into, has two outlets: one to the V1 and the other to the remote display. So, yes, it is wired.
