Default tech art rims with pics

i am thinking about purchasing a set of 19" Techart Formula or Formula II's for my seal grey 997. i was wondering who has these and what they think and also more importantly, who has them and can post pics. cecwheels.com has some but i want to see some more pics before i make the plunge

thanks in advance

Default The Techart Wheels are very Heavy.

TargaTim on this Board has them, and may have some input.

Thanks Ed. How's your 997S running? any recent mods?

Techarts look great on our 997, but I found them too heavy around the track comparing to the Lobsters that I used last year. Later I found that their weights are around 29 lbs front and 32 lbs rear, which is much heavier than Lobsters at 22 and 27 lbs, or 18" wheels which will even be lighter.

So for street use they're fine and look good, but not for track use.

I've enclosed a few pictures.

Everything I have learned about them is that they are extremely heavy. I would NEVER trade handling for looks,--yet people do that everyday with their Porsches. I'm sorry, but the Club Coupe should not be allowed to be altered. It should remain original to include wheels. Isn't it unique enough already? If you have to change anything put the XRR Carrera Sports on it!

You already did - you have a convertible

No worry Dan. I still have the original wheels, but I hate cleaning them!

I agree about never trade handling for looks, but I forgot to check the Techarts weights before my purchase as I ASSUMED that they should be the same weights as stock wheels. A lesson was learned.

I have pulled the old exhaust from the Silver one and added a set of AWE Cats. Car sounds amazing!

I am still considering changing the suspension, but it is a pricey endeavor. I will decided by the spring.

I might sell the HRE's to get some extra fun money for other mods. The new car has the Classic Wheels and I like them, easy to clean as well.

Sorry,--but the cabriolet was designed before the coupe. We can go head to head cab versus coupe anytime... :-)

after further looking into the weights issue and looking at different rims, i seem to be liking the 19" Champion RS97's...they are lighter than my current wheel and i like the look...so does anyone have pics of their 997 with the RS97's on them...i have found some on the internet but most are small pics or airbrushed/photoshopped pics that just dont look real...obv once again a seal grey car with these would be optimal...thanks for the input and pics
