Default Durametric Software and Windows XP on a Mac

Santa was so nice to me this Christmas. She got me the Escort 9500i Blue, a GT1 accelerometer, and Durametric scan software (because the kid in me wanted to access my OBDII port).

The Durametric scan tool allows you to look at your DME data and reset service reminders and a few other little things (see www.durametric.com).

I installed the software on my MacBook Pro on which I use Parallels to run Windows XP (I had Vista and got rid of it). The scan tool worked perfectly via the USB port as the printout below demonstrates.

I was quite surprised to see that I had very few overrevs. When I'm driving hard, I think I've only felt the rev limiter hit twice since I've had the car...I guess I'm shifting just in time!

I also noted that I've spent a total of 17.5 days in the car.

Is it worth the $250 bucks? For me yes,....I got a kick out of plugging it in.

How far back does it keep the history?
Your screen shot did not show the over revs, did it?
Looks like something I might like to play with too.

It is scanning your DME's history, so as long as you have the same DME in the car it will report the whole history.

If you're looking at where it says "70 h" next to the Range 1 overrevs, that's referring to the last time an overrev occurred (i.e. in the 70th operating hour of the car).

I also run durametric on my macbook with parallels...yes it does work great. I think you interpret the information incorrectly...the type I over rev occurred 421-70 = 351st as you put it "operating hour of the car"(since the car was new). So the last over rev occurred 70 hours ago. just look at it again after some miles and the number will change.

Thanks for that tip! I did not realize that.

While I haven't played with it, I think most of the sectors like "PASM" will basically read fault codes and allow resetting of fault codes. You cannot tweak PASM settings via Durametric.
Next time I plug it in, I'll check it specifically but the Pats game is about to start so a trip to the garage is out of the question!

Now I'm a bit confused. I just scanned my DME again and the 70 hour overrev marker stayed the same while the total hours of run time increased by 5.
I think it might mean that the overrevs did occur in the 70th operating hour.
