What's wrong with lobster claws anyway?
Hi guys, I've been following this forum for a few months now and I love the 997. They're finally making cars I would want to buy again.
I've noticed that a lot of guys here don't like the lobster claws, but the more I see them, the more I really really like them.
Are any of you guys proud to have them? Or are they overly heavy or something? Is it just that because they're stock wheels on the S that they're somehow less desirable?
Regardless, if you've got lobster claws, lets see them! I love they way they look on the 997. (Anyone else running them on a different model? Pics?)

they are the lightest of all the wheels, and in my very humble opinion look fantastic. they evoke some late 80's porsche wheels.
I also agree with the above poster..great with a bit of butter

Lobster claws are actually the lightest 19'' 997 wheels. Event lighter than a GT3 wheel. I used to not like them but that was until I saw them in person. Firstly, there are not that many wheels out there that look like lobster claws which make them more special and secondly they are purpose built acting as probably better fans to cool brakes than any other wheels.

I love mine so much I bought 18" after-market replicas to mount my winter tires on. This way I'm never 'lobster-less'. I also agree that they're unique; in a way that reminds me of Porsch Fuchs wheels. No other car on the road has anything that even resembles them!

I wasn't a big fan when I first saw them but admit they've grown on me. I ordered my car with them because I planned to swap them out anyway and didn't want to pay more for a different set of Porsche wheels.
I've had several people comment on the Claws, all of it positive. And, I'll give credit to Porsche for making a truly unique wheel with a beefy industrial look, that somehow comes in lighter than all the traditional spoke designs.
Mine are used for track days. Here they are in action.

I'll try and get a photo of them sometime so you can see the resemblance. There's a guy down the road from me with them on a C5/C6? (The last bodystyle with flip-up lights)
