Give it a rest chief. Freud would have something to say about your reactions to this and the Maslow threads.

I was half kidding about "methinks...", but you are really carrying a big chip.

Soulteacher is spot on here. It's fun to see what the other 997 owners and fans sink their time and money into.

(This thread is a little too early for me. I finish residency in June, order the 997 by fall, and next year I can indulge my other hobby -- flying -- with a used Cirrus SR22. Hopefully a few aircraft pics will show up on this thread.)

I've had Harleys for most of my life - my current ride is a Fatboy that I bought new in 1994. A half dozen years ago I bought a new BMW R1150R (like CBejbl's 2nd bike, but the "naked" version). It did everything well: smooth, quiet, great handling and power, but I seemed to never ride it. Contrary to my love of fine German machinery, I just seemed to miss the rough edges of my Harley. Even though it has an engine evolved from something that used to pump water out of a well in the 1890s.

Before I get flamed, my Fatboy is probably worth south of $10K - so it is not a "trapping of wealth". [Although, like Soulteacher, I do enjoy seeing other posters' expensive toys.]

Just take one look at Christophous' advertisers and you'll see what the demographics of the Porsche community are - I see no reason for Rennlisters to be ashamed of their lifestyles.

This thread is going to end up yet another "club" opportunity for everyone to display their wealth and congratulate each other on their success.

I hope this gets moved to off topic FAST.
I agree with jnx on this one... respectfully of course. Dont read the thread if it irritates you. I happen to enjoy it.

The intent of the thread was not to be a platform for displaying wealth, but an opportunity to share those "other loves" in your life. Although ones wealth may be assumed by the posts, it should not generate ill will, but an opportunity to see how the members embrace life outside of the 997. The 997 Rennlist community is passionate about thier cars and that passion is typically carried over into other hobbies or interests. So we should welcome pictures of boats, cars, motorcycles, landscpaes, or lawnmowers...so dont be shy.
