For those of you not on 6speedonline.com.

Fun day with perfect weather! The X51 997S on new MSPC's. The wing and front bumper really helped on the banking. The car felt very stable compared to last time I ran this track without added body mods. Hit 155mph on the front straight and carrying 130mph around the banking. Beeping is my speed indicator set at 85mph (top of third gear). I ended up running a 1:56.4 and my friend (yellow GT3) ran a 1:56.6.

28min video, so I'll give you the highlights:

0-4:40 997 GT3 (My buddy's)

4:40-5:50 Noble M400

8:30-13:30 Ford GT500

12:00 BMW M3 spins

14:00-end 997 GT3 (out braked me with his PCCB's)

16:15-16:36 996 GT3

23:50-24:31 C6 Z06

26:50-27:28 cool down lap - slides (just for fun )

1:56:4 .... good job.

I did this track with speedventures in november and it was nice.

Although my 997s is stock and I ran with street tires ... I ran a 2:13:05 ... and that was only driving at 75-80% .... just needed more grip and more downforce in the oval ... i only got it up to 130ish before the back felt really lighe with no wing.

I want to give it another try with a GT3 kit and some r rubber.

Cool video SB. Looks like the X51 wasn't pulled too bad by the GT3 in the HP sections of the track. Was that the case?

What happened to your old avatar? Breakup?

Cool vid.....thanks for posting.
I'm guessing that banking is much steeper than it looks on the video!

I was about to ask what speed you got your beeps set up .. then I read it on your post above. I think you could have to more beeps (total of three) to whatever speed you want them to go. I got mine setup to go at 64mph, 79mph and 90mph on the streets. 81plus mph here in VA is Reckless driving
At VIR I just had one set up at 130MPH.

That is so awesome you chased down one of those GT500. My best friend here has one and we've dome a couple of minor pulls..

I could see you're more confident on the banking turn compared to everyone else. I see how you close the gap everytime at that point!

Intoxicating howls.!!! Thanks for sharing

Truly superb. Thanks for posting. Gives us Rennlisters here in the Northeast something to dream while we are mired in this snow and ice. Question: are you stating that the standard 997 rear spoiler isn't enough to hold the line on the banked turns and the straight away at those speeds even when extended? Again a great video.

My .02 cents is the wing probably helps but not mandatory. I was there observing at the CA Festival of Speed in April and a guy with experience was running low 1.58s in a stock 997S Cab on street tires.

A friend of mine was racing in the Club races in a 993 with a big wing but lost his front air dam so his balance and front downforce were gone and I think he finished 6th overall. He is / was chief driving instructor for PCA / POC so he has a high level of experience also.

Either way those 1.56s are impressive.
