Find the rubber seal at the bottom of the door, and run your fingers over it - you should feel at least 1 and maybe 2 notches/indents on the surface of the seal which specifically fits the cord.
Did they really stop putting them on the 997's? My 996 4S has 2 clear notches/indents for this purpose. I admit, it took some close checking til I found them.
