I'd do none of the above -- I'd sign up for 6 DEs for the coming year and really have a blast. The car is great out of the box... But between the two mods listed, I'd do the mufflers. My car scrapes now as it is and I'm happy with the suspension on both street and track. But the personality of the car changed dramatically when I changed out the headers, cats, and mufflers - sound and performance.

Ron I am leaning towards the muffler but Champion said they onyl do Tubi, for which they charge ~$3,000....I am afraid that if I go with something non-dealer, will I a) void the warranty, or b) be dinged when I bring the car back after lease?? I mainly want something for better, more throaty sound...the c ar is already ballz out fast for me.....

$3,000 for mufflers?!? Try $1500 for AWE... Mufflers cannot and will not influence warranty. If your dealership relationship would be negatively influenced by you buying mufflers they don't stock, then I think it's time to find another dealer. Want to be "nice" to them? Get the AWE from Mike and have Champion install them - I think my dealer charged me a few hundred.

Then again, if Tubi is the sound you like... I didn't really care for it myself, I wanted a deeper / throatier tone with burble.

thanks for advice...nope did not want Tubi per se...he just said that that was the brand they repp'd Also, have you any idea whether if I am leasing the car, would I have to return the mufflers back to stock prior to turning back in? I guess I could always keep the older ones and then return to OEM at end of the lease.

Keep your stock mufflers, and re-install them when you turn in the car. The muffler install is quite simple to do. You can do it yourself.

Agree with jnx.
You can sell the aftermarket mufflers for 50% or so of the cost when you put the stock ones back on to return the car.
I sold my PSE in a few days on this site when i sold my 996... then spent the money on the Tubi for the 997 :-)
Oh the muffler change REALLY enhances the drive experience... no idea about power, but that sound :-)

Go with PSE. Although it'll cost more than $1200, you'll love the sound of the engine.
