Default An Ugly R8!!!!

Finally Spotted an R8 today on the fwy. I can't see why there is a comparison between the 997 and R8. The R8 styling look completely different and IMHO, it's ugly. W/ the LED driving light on, I feel offended because it look like a exaggerated slant eyes. The two tone color between the Air intake and the body looks weird. (Body in Metalic llt Blue / Intake WHite) The shape of an R8 look mechanical while the 977 have the curves... I could go on and on... Bottom line, there are no comparison. IMHO, the 997 beet the R8 styling Hand down...

Luv the R8 especially in Black

I think a two toned car in white and blue would ruin anything except perhaps a late fifties early sixties Corvette etc...btw the R8 side panels can be ordered to match the body color and I believe also in carbon fiber.

There is a metallic black R8 with the band that goes around it in carbon fiber at the Sarasota dealer and it looks awesome. I'd love to drive one to see how it compares. The 997 has a retro modern look to it. The R8 is all modern like a Ferrari 360 or 430.

Your mission, if you decide to accept it Jim, is to take pics of this car asap. Good luck Jim...this tape will self destruct in 10 seconds...

Check out the R8 microsite:

Don't get me wrong. I believe the mechanical portion of the R8 maybe nice or even superb. But it was a turn off for me from the initial impact of seeing n R8. Seeing a Orange Lambo is oooo and ahhhhs. But seeing a Lt Blue / White R8 is like "Is that it?"...

I totally agree with what the guy in the 5th Gear says in the video. "It's like 22nd Century TT" When I saw black R8 about a month ago on the road, I really think of TT.

Oh well, I like the interior though. Specially the Bang & Olufsen Audio.

Kind of like when people say our 911's remind them of super VW Beetles

Exactly The only R8 I saw has raised my adrenalin and testesteron much like any 430 and Gallardo does. It was all black. Looked fantastic. I personally think that it has the Gallardo propotions rather than a TT.

The R8 is okay looking to me. Nothing special. Though I doubt there are many people who cross shop 997's and R8's (the turbo being the exception).

I like the style of the R8. It does look like it came from the 22nd century. How does it compare price wise to the 997? Doesn't it fall in line with the C4S?
