Default TPMS

FYI - Just got a set of Beru TPS for my winter wheel/tire set from tirerack and they read more accurately than the sensors that came with the car. Go figure.

TPMS has its uses, but the damn thing drives me crazy.

I wonder if the origional sensors were set correctly, may have been set for the wrong size wheel/tire

Mine read 3 lbs. lower than a gauge since I got the car in July (I tried resetting them a few times). Last week I had snows put on and reset the system. Voila, they are suddenly accurate. It will be interesting to see what happens when the summer wheels go back on.

Default Cost?

How much did those Beru TPS sensors cost you? I was looking at getting a set for my winter tires/rims but the dealer wanted $175 per sensor.

Thanks.

I thought that might be the case. Perhaps accuracy is affected by age/battery?

If you want oem from porsche for the same price as tirerack, use Sunset Porsche out of Oregon. I was about to order the ones from tirerack, went with Porsche. The guys up there are great!!!

sensors are 88.27 ea, and 11.09 ea for the metal valve stems
