I have the Turbo wheels on my car and prefer those, but the GT3 wheels look nice.

Personal preference, but I'm not a big fan of the turbo wheels. GT3 Wheels look good.

The Turbo wheels are forged while other Porsche wheels are cast, but I prefer the look of the GT3 wheels.

I have done something similar to you. I have made my Carrera IIIs winter wheels (talk about timing....I had the snows put on last Friday and it snowed today), and bought Turbo wheels. The Turbos and forged and I believe the GT3s are cast. Also, if you are patient, you can find great deals on Turbos (I got a set of new take-offs from Porsche of Naples with PS2s and sensors for $2650 shipped off ebay). If I were you, I'd contact them directly too, as they often have take-offs for sale at very reasonable prices. GT3s are obviously rarer and more expensive plus if you get take-offs, the GT3s will probably have Pilot Cups which is not as street friendly a tire as the Turbo OE tires (I guess that may be a plus or minus depending on your needs). Personally, I think the Turbo wheels are gorgeous, but I know people seem to love them or hate them.

I like both wheels but think the turbo wheels look best on dark cars and the GT3 wheels look better on lighter cars.

+1 on Carcam's comments ... your 997 color factors into the equation. The Turbo wheels are a different metallic color than the GT3 wheels, and they have a dark grey edge to the interior of the spokes.

I have the Turbo wheels on my midnight blue 997 C4S and the colors complement quite well. (I also really like the GT3 wheels.)

If the wife preferes the turbos, then I'd presume that it's a foregone conclusion. However, in my opinion, the GT3 wheels look better on the car.

I'm having exacly the same problem deciding between the 2 myself. I prefer the GT3 wheels (my car is GT silver) BUT... the Turbo wheels look good too and have the added bonus of being dark on the inside so will not look so filthy when the brake dust clings (I have to clean the inside of my current rims more than the outside!!!).

Yeah, I think you guys all have valid points. I have always been partial to the turbo wheels, but was also considering the GT3 on the side. The dark grey edges of the turbo wheels will probably be a perfect match with the dark grey exterior of the car. Thanks!

Oh, and +1 to printemps2001 for his great advise on finding take-offs!!!
