but no, seriously, it's all about whatever the buyer wants. There are plenty of people who think my terracotta/black interior is hideous, but I love it. The thread is about others' opinions, and I gave mine. I have friends who love their yellow cars, but I don't think I'd ever buy one.
I agree, what ever floats your boat. I just happen to adore speed yellow, perhaps because I am colorblind. hehehe

Even malachite green is less awful than speed yellow, and malachite looks like it belongs on a Corolla. I don't think a car that's styled as aggressively as a 911 needs a loud color like yellow unless you're going for an in-your-face look a la orange GT3 RS.

Don't personally care for yellow, and I don't like red either. Not into loud colors.

I did see a few used 911s in yellow when I was looking. They seemed to be priced better than more conservative colored cars (silver, black, etc.), perhaps indicating that they are somewhat harder to sell.

Screw thinking of selling it later! Look for what YOU want! You'll have no problem later if you choose to sell it, it's a great color.

Speed yellow was my second choice, and to be honest, I should have done speed yellow.

I mean come on, it just screems PORSCHE!

I like Speed Yellow.

In my PCA region there are a pile of Speed Yellow GT3s but only one red one. Now two.

I do like my Atlas 997 though. You definitely don't see many around.

Not sure SY is for me, but it's a truly great color on a 911. BTW, I love the Atlas on my car, too. It's a wonderful color, and one that you don't see much. Hell, I don't even see mine much!

I am a little conservative (read not flashy) and thought I would get a silver car. I bought a SY 993 because it was beautiful and don't regret it. In fact it get lots of complements and on a cloudy day its like your our ray of sunshine. It alwasy makes me smile.

Go for SY, its a striking colour that really suits 911's and Boxsters in my opinion. I do think its model specific though. SY for 996 & 977 but not for a 993. Yellow for my old NSX and 355 but not for my Vantage. Certanly doesn't suit all cars or models.
Come to think of it, I've had a lot of yellow cars!

Loved my speed yellow GT3. Great car, great color. Got a fair amount of attention, most of it positive.

I like Boxsters in yellow as well. They just scream fun.

I think the 997/S in SY w/o lowering and aerokit looks a bit awkward; needs aggressive aero to pull of the supercar look of SY.

I wanted an exciting color to match this exciting car. I don't care what anyone else thinks.

When you see it in person how does it make you feel?
And is that feeling the same every time you see it?

Honestly I think the feelings should count more in this situation.

When I bought my black/black 997S earlier this year I would have jumped on a speed yellow/black w/ deviating yellow stitching if one was available.

I think Speed Yellow is a great 997 color.
