Default Nav problems

I'm having an issue with my navigation, the map shows me about 150 miles from my actual location and it doesn't change. And when I try and use the nav to get directions to seems to think I'm somewhere other than where I am actually at or where the map shows me located. For example, I tried to use it to get home from the gym today when I was a few miles away. It told me to make a U turn (even though I was going in the right direction) and it said I was 14 miles away.

I've tried pulling the fuse in order to get it to reboot but removing it didn't have any effect.

Try pulling the fuse and then pulling the DVD out of it. Do a hard restart.

Is this a MY05 car? Some have noted in the past that antenna placement issues cause this problem. Was sorted out in later cars.

It is a MY06.

I've tried pulling the DVD and the fuse but it didn't make a difference. I'm not sure if it did a hard reset, I would have assumed this would have resulted in clearing the radio station memory but they're still there.

Keep the fuse out for at least a couple of minutes. I ran into this one time only here in the USA and after reloading the DVD it eventually cleared itself. Never repeated.

I had the same problem when the car was only a few months old.
It indicated my car about 30 miles from actual position.
It turned out that the antenna was defective and it was replaced under warranty .

I simply restored the factory defaults for the nav unit (under nav settings, I think) - that solved the problem. No fuses to pull or DVDs to remove. FWIW, I have a button happy 12 year-old, and I think some random button combo seemed to wedge up the nav map.
