The big question is this-if we work out a deal and I have to ship out my wheels to WE, how much is that going to cost? I am under the impression that it is going to be ridiculously expensive?

Ever considered simply painting the centers? There's nothing wrong with those wheels at all, and a simple paint job to match the car could make all the difference. Maybe a PhotoShop job can give you a clue as to whether it could work.

It's not really a swap. They buy your wheels for approx. $200 each, you buy theirs for $2200 a set. Best bet is to sell your set on Ebay for $1800 or so and find a set you like for a similar price - of course this takes time, so it's your call.

Keep an eye in Excellence too ... Brandywine often has OEM wheels at a nice discount.

Depends on distance of course, but shipping wheels without tires is not that expensive - $30 each.

You were almost dead-on! David told me that the Carrera Sports would run me $2500 and that they would give me $900 for my Sport Designs. Plus shipping would be $120. Plus of course I will need new tires-ouch!

I will defintely try to sell my wheels instead, as they are absolutely worth more than $900.

I think $2500 is a decent price for Porsche take offs on the Carrera Sports, so I will buy from WE. Plus David seems pretty cool and quite helpful

Skittlz -

I'm considering purchasing one of several 997Ss right now. One of them has the lobster claws and I would prefer the Sport Designs. If I buy it, I'd be willing to pay a little more than what you've been offered for your wheels and I could meet you somewhere around Newnan (I'm in Marietta) to pick them up and save you the shipping charges. If interested, please send me a PM. Thanks,

Marty
