Default PDE (PSDS) Masters

Just completed yet another Masters program, yet another outstanding program.

It rained for most of the two days, the experience, OUTSTANDING!!!!

A great learning experience driving on the track in various states of rain, driving on a wet track is priceless learning how the car behaves on a slick surface.
In the dry, tires sing with an audible. In the wet the tires chatter (tread blocks, slipping) under steer and over steer happen much quicker and corrections must be made instantly.

If you could attend PDE and it rains be happy...it's great

The PDE program began my addiction to the track. I'm thinking of doing the Masters program and taking a track buddy along. If he's used to running in the upper run groups at the track, do you think he would find the Masters program worthwhile?

If he hasn't done the basic program, he is not doing the Masters.

I echo Brian's comments, the Master's in the rain is the best program I have ever done.

Paul Simon said it best:

"Slip, sliding away"

the rain really helps you learn proper control of the car. you dont have to be at 10/10ths to feel the full effect of taking the line wrong or something. You have to be much more controlled in the rain and learning to speed around a track in the rain makes it sooooo much easier to do in the dry!

You can run in the Masters without doing the basic. A friend of mine is an instructor for DE's through the PCA and went staight to the Masters. Also, if you have done Barber or the like, I have heard you can call them and plead your case.

Let us know how it works out. I doubt that it is easy, because of their Insurance requirements. Exceptions might need to fall into a very narrow band, if at all.

I have asked many times and been denied (see above)

But, it would be good to have adefinitive answer.

Because of you MJ I took my car out tonight in the rain and drove it pretty aggresively for a nice drive. My car is now almost three years old and I normally wouldn't take it out in the rain. But I said what the heck, Porsche built these babies to be driven in the rain as well. Let me tell you she still hugged the road as if it were dry. Now I didn't drive at the same speed that I would if it were dry, but the perfomance, response, and handling were all amazing; even in the rain. What a night for a drive. I still left people standing.

Thanks again for the note. I miss your regular commentary on this site.
