Default Door/Window Creak

The sound has gotten worse in recent weeks and the other thread reminding me of it didn't help my attitude towards it either. It sounds like the window itself inside the door is making a creaking noise (more creak, not really a squeak).

Anyone else with this same problem? I did the usual search and other squeaks didn't seem to be quite the same.

I'm a little hesitant to have the dealer taking things apart to fix it but I may have no choice.

Try wiping the seals with a MF cloth moistened with WD-40.

Wurths Rubber care (comes with a sponge tip)- in my coupe it eliminated some of the creak. Otherwise, its a sports car!!

Default Dealer fixed it.

Had the same creaking inside the door. If I recall, they said there was a window guide that was loose. It was not a rattle or a squeak; but a creak over bumps.

Just started noticing the same thing. Thought it was the seat belt harness by the door, but after looking at it more it seems like its the window rubbing against the rubber seal on the door.

Actually I have a cab and you may have helped me diagnose this - I think it could be the mechanism that is just behind the door, in the side of the car. I noticed the same irritating squeek as it retracted the roof, but then again maybe it was the little window making the noise.

Oddly enough, the noise is almost gone this week. It cooled off into the 70's so maybe that had something to do with it. I'm annoyed that the noise went away!

Never WD40 on rubber it will rot it. If you need proof blow up a balloon and spray WD40 on it and see what happens!

I would use the Wurth products. I have also used a dry Silicon product on natural rubber.

I just sprayed WD-40 a bit on a paper towel and rubbed it over the seal and the noise went away.

Hopefully no long term damage was done but I will use Wurths Rubber protector next time I hear this noise.

Having owned a few conv., cab cars in the past they all tend to creak and squeak with time goes by. I realized these noises will not go away just ignore and live with it. That's for having a topless car.
