Default Another is this a good deal on a 997S

I've found a 2006 997S at a local non-Porsche dealership that is priced at a good level but they're not offering too much for my trade. It has about 12,000 miles and 25 months remaining on the factory warranty.

Major options are: Nav, Bose, sport shifter, sport chrono, 6 disc changer, power seats and 19" sport wheels. It seems to be very clean although I haven't had the PPI done yet, I'm waiting to decide it I want it.

The final number is about $72,000 with tax and fees, but not including title (I figure I have to pay this whether I get it from a dealer or a private party so I don't really include it). I had wanted to be closer to 70K and I know in the grand scheme of things 2K isn't a huge difference but I still want to feel as though I'm getting a getting a good deal.

The saleswoman is a useless so part of me doesn't want to buy it for this reason alone.

Which is more importnant, buying the car you want or the feeling that you got a good deal? If this is the car you want then go for it.

So what is the price before taxes? What was the original window sticker?

it isn't a good deal if you don't have a CPO!

They don't have the original window sticker but I think it was a bit over $90K new. As for the price of the it, b/c I'm looking to trade one in we're really only talking about the difference between the 997S and my trade. But I guess if I didn't have a trade it would probably be around $68.5K plus tax and the stupid doc fee.

I'm very anti-option. I think the best thing about the 997 is the chassis, body styling and the interior improvements over the 996. S or not-S is a whole other topic, but I put little value on options - but to other people they are valuable and desireable. Just be honest with yourself about whether those options are what YOU want. I got my 997S on a discount, a new 2007, in the 70's. It has only 3 options - it was a low content car on the dealer lots. But if I had to order one, I might order it with only two options - floor mats and the free model designation delete. So, unless you want those options, I'd say that paying in the 70's for that car is not a special deal - but not a bad one either, considering that car probably crested 90K new with all those options.

imho, cpo alone is worth buying from a p dealer or private party (even if a bit more expensive).

If you give me the VIN i can print up and fax you a copy of the original PROFORMA invoice if you wish.

Cheers.

Thanks for the offer of the invoice, I decided to pass on this car. But I may hit you up for one in the future.
