Need a radar detector for travel that does not use a cord, I use a hardwired V1 in my porsche.
Anyone want to sell theirs?

I know I'm in the minority on this board, but I actually returned my V1 (after taking the time to hardwire it). After only a few weeks, I found myself completely ignoring it due to incessant false alarms (even in advanced logic mode). I figured having a detector you ignore is about as useful as not having one, so why have this ugly device cluttering up my lovely interior.

I also can recommend the Solo. My wife has one in her X-5 and it has always given us plenty of warning in over 35000 miles of driving. (I would guess around
80 to 90 radar encounters over those miles.) In rental cars you can usually use
a dashboard "stickey pad" to set it on. It's surprising how well the Solo sticks to the dash using on of those pads.

I had V1 for three years, then I decided to go with the clean look of solo2. I sold my V1 on the ebay for great price($370, I really couldn't understand why the buyer was willing to pay that much
)
Anyway, I got the solo2 and used it for a week. All of sudden, I wasn't getting those signal I used to get with V1 from roadside speed displays. This really scared me since it was one of those things which always reminded me that my V1 is working fine. Because I wasn't getting those peace of mind from solo2, I returned the solo2 and order a new V1. By using excellent post on this forum, I have hardwired the new V1 and been very happy with it.
If you are used to V1, please note that the sensitivity of solo2 is quite different from it.

Thanx guys, a fellow rennlister is selling me theirs.
Sudden rash of them on ebay today, thankyou for the links.
I did not want to pay full price because I only wanted to use it for when I am traveling out of state in rental cars. The cigarette outlets are filled with my ipod/cell charger/nuvi cords. So I wanted something cordless.
I doubt that I will like it better than the V1. The sensitivity on the V1 is tolerable if in advanced logic mode and x-band programmed off.

On another note, twice it picked up laser scatter with enough advanced warning to permit me to decrease speed before I got zapped directly.
