Question Cleaning off cone marks

Had the pleasure of doing a PCA autocross with my C4S. I used blue painter tape over the front leading edges, which are covered with a 3M clear bra. I failed to cover the OEM clear guard on the back fender flair and picked up a nice cone "smudge". I tried the orange and the green cleaners; both with no joy. Any suggestions? Thanks

Plexus or 3M adhesive remover.

I've used Plexus, WD40 and various waxes and polishes. Simple Green has worked the best on my rear fender guard and my clear bra. It was head and shoulders above other products in getting off tire marks. I haven't tried Windex. I scrub the Simple Green in with a foam dishwashing pad that's covered with a plastic mesh.

I've used rainex bug and tar remover with some success. Plexus seems to work for some marks as well.

Keep a layer of rejex on the car, reapply often

Then windex should work just fine.

Until you get to that, adhesive or bug/tar remover works.

Thanks for the replies. Seems like more than one possibility. Saturday morning I'll test them out. Next autocross I'll use blue tape over this section also.

my clear bra is now marked up from pieces of rubber on the track hitting it and the usual day to day road debris hitting it. I have tried to remove these marks and the scratches my wife put in the bra by trying to scratch some bug marks off with her dagger finger nails. I finally got out my buffer with some Novus and Mequires plastic polish...still can not get all the marks off.

Yet another solution is to get a black car, that way you can't see road/tire tar that sticks to it

I use mineral spirits. Most drivers use the blue tape but the white masking tape works just as good at 1/4 the cost. Only difference is that the blue is for long term use. I remove my tape at the end of the day. Rinse the area with water first to remove any grit. Water also removes any marks that are water soluble. You can scrub like crazy with WD40 or thinner and they will have no effect of water soluble marks.
Lately I have started using a 3M protective film. 12" by 150 foot roll, white. Sticks OK to clean surfaces and I tape the leading edges to keep the wind from lifting it. Lots faster then using the 2" strips. I think the roll was $25.00.

Try using some tar remover and follow up with a clay bar.
