Very nice, congrats! I thought the little girl was you until I read kennygoodboy's comment...makes sense. I was wondering how you could see over the steering wheel ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Could you post a few pics demonstrating how the view looks from the inside when the top is open? Not sure if you can do that without a video clip, but thought I'd ask anyway. Or at least one from the outside a little farther away from the car when the top is down?
Thanks and congrats again on a sweet ride!

I'd be interested in what how you think your Targa performes. I thought it was a tad slow when I first got mine. But now that I am past the break in period and the engine is loosening up I'm pretty impressed.

9974G Gerald,
The view out the rear with the top down is not great, but you can see. I owned a 996 Targa and it's about the same. You learn to use your side mirrors.
ChipAZ,
Compared to my 997 C2S, it's strangely a little more throaty in its exhaust note. Otherwise, it is much more composed in the twisties. Some of that is of course the "4"ness of the four wheel drive system. But unlike a 996 C4, it doesn't kill the entire 911 feel. It still has the ***** down, front wheels in the air, "accelerator is your steering adjuster" feel to it. I read a great article in Excellence (Sept. 07 issue) before I did this and they summed it up pretty well: with PASM switched ON, it behaves like a coupe. Turn PASM off and you can feel the extra weight in the turns over the C2S. Power wise, I am not wanting for any, there is no loss over the C2S that I can detect.
That being said, the stock shifter feels shorter than the stock C2S shifter. In fact, I drove the C2S with a factory short shifter in it, traded cars, and drove this home... and had to call the dealer to confirm this did not have the short shifter kit! Not sure what's up with that! I have always B&M'd or factory short-shifted my cars, but this might just stay as-is.

tmc, I used to think that my former base C2 was the best car I drove in my life. The TS4 (which I think I'm going to start calling it) is heavier and takes some getting used to, but sticks to the road like glue in a true 911 fashion. It's more of a touring car to me. It reminds me of an old BMW 540i I had once with the exception that the handling is far superior in all respects. I passed the 2000 mile barrier this week and am slowly pushing it further.
The New Mexican HP is out in force this weekend which was holding me back on my favorite 50 mile circuit.

Yeah that's true. This is not a track car candidate. But then again, it could pull it off. The Top Gear review was overly harsh, but I do think that Excellence got it right
I don't plan to track it, though. I'll get a 993 for a track beast.
What the Targa is is a special mid-point between coupe and cabrio. To that end, I'm betting it'll prove to be an excellent DD.
The T4S's ability to meet totally different requirements is admirable. In PASM Normal, it is a comfortable and distictive cruiser. In PASM Sport, it's a nicely sharpened performer. So congratulations to the marketing team for identifying a niche market that doesn't care much too about the sporting aspects of driving a Porsche -- and kudos to the engineers for making it a Porsche anyway.

Gallo "Hearty Burgundy". Should have cellared some jugs 20 years ago instead of drinking them.

Fans of Gallo’s Hearty Burgundy are scouring the Internet and retailers to grab every bottle of what has become one of the world’s chicest wines. Demand has continued to force prices ever higher and crossing the $50.00 a bottle threshold seems to have only increased demand.
